Essential Massage Weekly Newsletter

Week of December 19, 2021

Greetings friends, clients and self care aficionados! Welcome to my website and blog! As you may have noticed the name change to essential wellness, I wanted you to know it can still be found on google under essential massage. This is my first attempt at a blog so fingers crossed!! While I was trying to make peace with the technology gods, I had a client come in with her shoulders in her ears, and I thought, "I get you, and I know how to help". After the treatment, my client stood with her shoulders back where they belonged, totally relaxed, with an ability to feel and be more centered and calm. In turn, I appeased the tech gods and the circle of life continues. Want to get rid of holiday stress? Check out my holiday offers at the end of this newsletter.

Healthy Side Alternatives for Holiday Dinners

If you are trying to stay healthy this holiday season, and have several party plans, here are some tips that will help.

Drink a lot of water.

Eat a healthy snack before you head over.

Get in a quick workout so that you are burning enough calories that you can handle taking a bite of that delish pie on the counter without feeling guilty!

Bring over healthy side dishes.

Here are a few healthy side alternatives you can bring to your next event:

Mashed Cauliflower

Anyone watching carb content knows to avoid potatoes. Try this instead: boil and mash cauliflower instead of potatoes. Using this tasty recipe, nobody will miss those potatoes. Save the carb count for the rest of the meal.

Garlicky Green Beans

I know that the green bean casserole is a treasured addition to any holiday meal, but it’s chock full of calories and fat that you just don’t want right now. Try this recipe for garlicky green beans that incorporates those veggies in a new and delicious way.

Crunchy Pear and Celery Salad

Instead of the traditional macaroni, green or potato salad – hey, I don’t know what your main dish will be – try this non-traditional pear and celery salad. Pears taste amazing this time of year, and will make for an amazing sweet treat for your tastebuds.

I am so grateful for all of you who have stuck with me through my changes and struggles and struggles with changes. I'm happy to say you can easily book online now if you wish. Best wishes during the holiday season.

In love and gratitude, Lori
